APD’s architects and engineers have experience in a broad range of unique and creative recreational projects. APD has successfully completed recreational projects for both public and private organizations. A common theme among a number of our completed projects has been water—from the historic Erie Canal, to waterparks, to the frozen slopes of ski resorts.
APD understands that one of the keys to a successful recreational project is knowing how it is to be used and who will be using it. A common link between our recreational projects is that they are all designed for the user’s enjoyment as either a spectator or a participant.
Recreational projects also require facilities for operational requirements such as security, administrative, general services and maintenance. Members of APD’s staff have completed these types of projects as well.
Recreational projects fall into many categories that are often regulated by different agencies with different requirements. APD’s team of architects and engineers thoroughly researches this process to understand which approvals are required before work can begin. We work with our clients to navigate the approvals to meet agencies requirements in a timely and effective process. Our firm has provided effective and efficient combinations of planning, design, permitting, construction, and grant support.
