APD seeks a Registered Architect to work on nationally based commercial/retail projects. The candidate must have experience with construction documents, specifications, permitting, and construction administration.
This position requires a candidate with excellent, proactive problem-solving skills and strong communication skills with clients, consultants, municipalities, and co-workers. Candidates should have a can-do attitude and the ability to multitask. Assignments require the experience and knowledge to assist the project team in satisfying the client and facilitating the project’s construction

Responsibilities
Mentorship and training of junior architectural staff.
Assist design and production teams, including sub-consultants, for commercial/retail and other project types.
Develop and coordinate specifications for construction drawings.
Review changes to construction products and recommend specifications.
Respond to RFPs, generate proposals, and develop design contracts.
Assist in finding optimal solutions and generating construction change directives.
Coordinate submittal of construction documents for governmental review, and respond to permit review comments.
Assist staff in reviewing projects for Quality Assurance.
Possible travel (<10%).
Minimum Qualifications
Accredited degree in Architecture
Excellent proactive problem-solving skills
Strong computer, written, and verbal communication skills are essential
Possess the ability to multitask with strong organizational/prioritization skills.
Experience in field construction administration
Attention to detail and completeness
Excellent client coordination and communication skills
Training and mentorship skills
Preferred Qualifications
RA/AIA
7+ years of experience
LEED AP+
Proficient in AutoCAD
Proficient in Revit
2+ years of Project Management
NCARB certification
Retail and multi-site project experience
Retail prototype experience
Experience processing entitlements and permit approvals in jurisdictions throughout the US
