Chris La Bar

Senior Project Designer

“At APD, you are surrounded by people that want to help you and want to teach you to be the best designer you can be, all while pushing you to achieve the stars.”

Chris’s journey into the industry began with building blocks and Lego sets, which sparked his interest in construction. He spent countless hours watching TV shows about buildings and eagerly helped his dad with home renovation projects. These experiences led him to realize that a career in architecture was somehow the answer.

Chris loves that he can go almost anywhere in the country and say that APD has worked on this project or that project. Pointing out projects and saying that he and his team did a great job is very rewarding. Chris mostly works on United Rental Projects in addition to some ALDI projects now and then.

Outside of work, Chris spends a lot of his time working on cars, whether that is fixing his family’s car or rebuilding his own Camaro. He also enjoys sports and concerts.

Favorite Project

Chris’s favorite project was a United Rentals in Yuma, AZ. This was his first time independently taking a project from inception to permit approval while coordinating with the team and the client to ensure the outcome met the client’s expectations.
