Kingston’s passion for Civil Engineering was sparked early, inspired by his father, a Civil Engineer in China, who often brought him to various project sites. This early exposure ignited Kingston’s interest in the field, leading him to pursue a career in the industry. Kingston particularly enjoys the investigative aspect of his role, likening it to being a detective who uncovers the existing framing conditions of buildings despite limited information.
When not immersed in engineering projects, Kingston is dedicated to raising his two children, often found actively participating in their numerous activities.

Favorite Project
Kingston’s favorite project was an ALDI retrofit on Staten Island, NY. This project had various levels of complexity, including the removal of the shear wall and the interior loading dock and working with the limited roof area that had existing solar panels. During construction, various new findings, such as structural slabs and grand beams in the partially existing building, were made.
