Bob Zupack

, PE

Senior Associate Principal of Structural Engineering

“I enjoy being able to work with and mentor our young engineers, passing on the knowledge that I have gained through the years in my profession.”

Bob had early skills with a pencil and a straight edge, so drawing and geometry came easily to him. His abilities helped guide him to pursue a career in Structural Engineering, where he gets to design and watch his detailed drawings come to life.

Bob joined APD in 2018 after a 45-year career in Structural Engineering. He has worked on a wide variety of structural projects, including college and office buildings, industrial and manufacturing facilities, and food processing and distribution warehouses, for clients such as Kodak, Wegmans, Xerox, Bausch & Lomb, Wal-Mart, and the University of Rochester.

In his spare time, Bob enjoys refinishing old school desks, golfing, volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, and working on projects around the house.

Favorite Project

Bob’s favorite project was a major renovation of the Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Headquarters in the early 1980’s.  It included a new 10-story glass-enclosed atrium for which he helped design the supporting structural space frame.  Coincidentally the project was in Milwaukee where he went to college.
